Sir Richard Francis Burton, born on 19 March 1821 and lived till 20 October 1890 was a British explorer, translator, poet, geographer, writer, soldier, fencer, spy, diplomat, orientalist, cartographer, ethnologist and linguist. Travelling and exploring made him famous. His travels and explorations led him to different parts of the world, for example, Asia, Africa and the Americas. He was knowledgeable of several cultures and languages. They say he spoke 29 different languages.
