Gustave Flaubert was born on 12 December 1821 en live until 8 May 1880 was a French writer, novelist. He was very influential and probably the leading exponent in France literary realism in his time. His debut roman, Madam Bovary (1857) is his best-known work. He is also very famous for his correspondence and his meticulous devotion to style and aesthetics. Of course, he had admirers, Guy de Maupassant was a protege of him.
