Ibn Battuta born February 25, 1304, and died in the year 1368 or 1369 (nobody really knows) was a Moroccan, Muslim, scholar and explorer who widely travelled the medieval world. In his life, Ibn Battuta travelled a lot. He visited most of the Islamic world and a lot of non-Muslim countries. The regions he travels ware Africa, Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia and China. At the end of his life, he made a detailed journal of his travels, named "A Gift to Those Who Contemplate the Wonders of Cities and the Marvels of Travel" or in short "The Travels". This journal gives a gives a detailed account of medieval civilisations that is still read today.
