Wondering where to go shopping the next time your visiting Amsterdam?
I know where you could go, once a month at "De Hallen" in Amsterdam West the Kloffie market is held. It's the perfect place to find high-quality second hand or vintage clothes. This market is all about fashion, so if there is a fashionista hiding in you, this is the place for you.
We all have been to flea markets, and if you're lucky, you will find something fabulous. But its hard work, you have to go through heaps and heaps of clothes. Often on the ground and there is no guarantee you will find your next favourite piece that was still missing from your wardrobe.
The Kloffie market is very different from a flea market. First off all the clothes are on racks, I had the feeling I was in a boutique instead of a drafty warehouse. Only private individuals with secondhand or vintage clothes are allowed to sell. And there is no H&M or Zara here, just mid and high-end brands. Brands like Isabel Marant or Dries van Noten; jackets go for around 200 euro. An Acne Studio t-shirt for approximately 25 euro or a bandana from Kings of Indigo for about 10 euro.
But there is much much more to find here. Shoos, bags, sunglasses, hats etc. from labels like Jil Sander, Raf Simons, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Céline, Comme des Garcons and Prada are a small selection I saw. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in Amsterdam and you want to pick up one of these labels or watch fashion girls and boys searching for there next outfit.
Below you can find when the next Kloffie market is.
And if you're all shopped out, and you need coffee, De Hallen is the perfect place for that as well. Around the corner are the Foodhallen. The Foodhallen is a food court with some delicious treats. Ideal place to recharge for the next adventure in Amsterdam.
